Two tools, separate worktrees
I run Claude Code and Codex in separate Git worktrees: each has its own working copy and branch, while both follow the same OS rules. That lets me develop or compare changes in parallel. I review the results and decide what is merged into the main version.
A check runs when a Claude Code session starts and before every message. It says whether the main version has moved and which records to reread. At a fresh start, a copy with no work of its own is brought up to date automatically.

One map for every agent
Claude Code and Codex start from the same file. Its routing map says where each kind of knowledge lives and which source wins when two disagree, so a fact is kept in one place and pointed to from the rest.
